Dear BugTattoos,
I’m thrilled to apply as your studio mate at The Stabshack. I’ve admired your work since I was first interested in tattooing so working together would be a huge creative milestone for me. Our styles are both inspired by a background in American traditional tattoos that resonate with an edgier audience. I think the similarities in our taste would allow us to work well together and create an inspiring environment in the studio.
Although our styles are complementary they remain very unique. Your tendency towards patchwork combined with my larger sleeve pieces would attract a broader range of clientele. Recently I have been focusing on tattooing over scars and am always excited to learn and exchange techniques whenever I can. I believe that with our different approaches we could push each other to explore more creatively.
I completed my tattoo apprenticeship a year ago and have left customers consistently satisfied since. I started my apprenticeship work mastering a black and white style with heavy contour, I often use hand poking in my work to capture a bold traditional look. Developing my art alongside someone with a similar passion in activism would be an incredible opportunity to learn.
Thank you for your time, I hope to talk in person and discuss my portfolio
Wishing the best,
Taryn Geist
